Universiti awam ini bukan pusat tuisyen atas kedai kopi sebelah pusat urut lah brother. Universiti awam ada undang-undang yang boleh dikuat kuasakan. Mari kita lihat tiga peraturan dalam University of Malaya (Discipline of Students) Rules 1999 untuk rujukan dan panduan.
‘A student shall not … do any act or cause any act to be done in the Campus, so as to cause or be likely to cause any obstruction, inconvenience, annoyance, loss or damage to any person in the University …’ – Rule 3(h)
‘A student who contravenes any of these Rules, or any guideline, direction, instruction, restriction, condition or term imposed or given under these Rules, commits a disciplinary offence.’ – Rule 71
‘A student who commits a disciplinary offence under these Rules and is found guilty of the offence shall be liable to any one or any appropriate combination of two or more of the following punishments: (a) a warning … (b) a fine not exceeding two hundred ringgit … (c) exclusion from any specific part or parts of the University for specified period … (d) suspension from being a student of the University for a specified period … (e) expulsion from the University.’ – Rule 48
Lain kali, jangan makan dan berak tempat yang sama. Sebagai bonus, saya kongsi lagi satu peraturan, yang ini, khusus kepada mereka yang suka buat stunt publisiti semasa konvokesyen:
The Vice-Chancellor may require a student suspected to have a mental disorder to submit himself for medical examination by a qualified medical officer.’ – Rule 23.
