Lim Teong Kim has left Malaysia for good and has returned to Munich, Germany.
In 2013, I convinced Kim to come back to Malaysia to lead the National Football Development Programme (NFDP).
He was a hard taskmaster.
He pushed the boys to their limits. He demanded the best from his coaches.
He had his detractors. And we disagreed many times. But I let him do his job. We may not have qualified for the next U17 World Cup, but the seeds that Kim has planted will blossom one day. As long as the system that he helped build isn’t destroyed by certain parties.
It was a great ride, Herr Lim.
I told you development is a long term proposition.
I’m just sad we did not get to see things through.
Auf wiedershen, my friend.
